Sea levels are rising, faster than last 2800 yrs

Sea levels on Earth are rising several times faster than they have in the past 2,800 years and are accelerating.

Couple this with two facts:
1. ACCELERATING PHENOMENA ARE INHERENTLY UNPREDICTABLE.
2. A species that evolved to prioritize short-term threats is pretty much doomed to ignore a long-term threat until it is too late.
